Frontier is a UK-based business research firm focussed on emerging markets. Our current coverage spans several countries in North Africa and South-East Asia, and in 2019 we are opening an office in Uzbekistan.
We provide subscription-based and customised research services on different sectors of the economy. Our coverage spans news, projects, companies, data, tenders and other content. Our clients include private-sector companies of all sizes, IFIs, public-sector entities, NGOs and other organisations.
We are now looking to hire an experienced Editorial Manager, based in Tashkent, to help launch and manage our Uzbekistan coverage.
The job will involve:
- Building a team of researchers and writers to operate our subscription services, which will initially focus on the energy and financial services sector
- Managing staff and taking a leading role on developing our coverage
- Researching and writing a range of content including news briefs, company profiles and project profiles
- Monitoring news and information sources for relevant material
- Editing content to a standard ready for publication
- Collecting and analysing data
- Interviewing and meeting companies or other relevant organisations
- Helping to build our network by attending events, conferences, etc
The ideal candidate will:
- Have native-level written English
- Already be based in Tashkent or with experience of living in Uzbekistan
- Have demonstrable relevant experience, e.g. business journalism, research
- Have experience of managing staff
- Demonstrate a strong grasp of business and economic fundamentals
- Be able to learn quickly about new industries and sectors
- Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Be comfortable with speaking to and visiting companies and government bodies
Salary: Dependent on experience
